The 2007 Draft

Postby QUACKER_man on Wed Dec 27, 2006 2:25 pm

This is not an "Official" vote on the subject, but I am curious as to your preference. Please voice your opinion in this poll.

Keep in mind that in an all draft format, a maximum response time would likely be established (probably 24 hours). If you were to miss a response deadline, you would lose your pick in that round. That missed pick would be moved to the END of the next round.

Unofficial Poll

I think that would be a fair action considering we know when the draft is and when our turn is to come. If we need to be away someone else could draft for us.

If someone knew they'd be out of email touch for more than 24 hours, a list of preferred picks could be sent to a 3rd party manager/GM or commmish. After 24 hours, if no response received, then the top pick on that list would be the automatic selection for the unresponding team.

Sure Dave, it's the responsibility of each team's GM to take whatever measures are necessary to ensure that his picks are made on time. And, it also DOESN'T mean that GMs should take as long they want, as long as they're within the 24 hour period. Everyone must use use some common sense, fair play and consideration to the GM who picks next.

Draft Poll

Postby craigmo on Thu Dec 28, 2006 2:27 am

I really like the email draft; while not as realistic as a regular draft, it sure is easier for me. It does away with chat room technical difficulities and is much less stressful.

Draft Pocess

Postby BRKLYNPETE2001 on Thu Dec 28, 2006 4:38 pm

I would prefer to see most if not all of the draft done by mail if helps to ease the pressure with the draft room process

Vote of live draft

Postby windsorredbirds on Thu Dec 28, 2006 6:11 pm

I guess I'm in the minority here, but I love the life draft. It's one of the most fun things about being in a league like this, and its the only time of the year we can have communication with everyone.

Live is fun but emails make its less stressful. The reason i like emails is because I can save my vacation time for vacation. sometimes its even harder to take off since I work that day.

All e-mail

Postby CraigTwins on Fri Dec 29, 2006 2:27 am

As a guy who works weekends I'm with Angel on this one. To finish off the draft I have to take time off. Not that I mind missing work but off-days are a precious commodity. As long as people let the group know if they're going to be out of range during the process and set up a back-up plan, I think we could do it.

I think this sounds perfectly fair. Like Dave said if your going to be out of touch for 24 hours you send a list, simple. and stress free, if you ask me.
But I really do love the live draft too.

I love the live draft. I understand the the concerns of some but I have always thought it is just half of one day. But then again, I am not working weekends anymore.

I agree with the "minority" out there. Draft Day is one of the few things we have left that keep BUNT unique. I can understand those who would rather have a e-mail draft. But nothing beats DRAFT DAY in my mind.

I think before we go ahead and make the change, everyone should be made aware of what how the draft will be run. What will happen if picks are missed or personal events overshadow the draft. This are thing I'm sure everyone would like to know in advance.
