The SANDLAPPERS, who have improved
tremendously after taking over this
club a year ago, own the 1st pick of
the 2009 draft. They are
willing to trade this pick for the
right combination of players/- picks
and are mainly looking for starting
pitching,
but are willing to consider players
at other positions if they are 'star
quality.' |

The JACKALS are attempting to
improve their 2008 playoff position.
They've acquired the 4th pick of the
2009 draft from the Fly- catchers
and are now looking to move the 17th
pick for a #2 and #3, or a solid
reliever and a pick, or a good
starting pitcher, or a starting
2Bman or an upgrade over an existing
position of theirs. |

This year, for the first time in
several years, the first 16 picks of
the draft belong to different
franchises. However, that
could easily change as there are
still a couple of weeks remaining
before the 2008 trade deadline on
December 1st. Then trading
resumes once more during the first 2
weeks of January, just prior to the
start of the email phase of the
draft on January 16th. The
remaining 'live' phase of this draft
will be on February 7th.

The DUCKS will consider offers for Adam LaRoche*/1B
(.270/.341/,500, with 25 HR, 32 D
and 85 RBI). They need power
back or premium picks(s) as they
have no trouble playing him in LF if
the right deal doesn't come along. |

The Paddlers have a couple of
premium picks, or a combination of
picks and players such as- Street,
C.Gonzalez and Blalock to offer for
a decent OFer. They are also
willing to listen to other offers,
but don't count on them being moved. |
